New year's eve outfit — Tudor Personal Tailor’s guide

If you still haven’t picked up your new year's eve outfit, Tudor Personal Tailor’s fashion consultant, Adrian Belbe, comes to your help with some outfit recommendations that will not only make you feel comfortable, but also stand out from the crowd.

If the party invitation says "black tie", "black tie optional" or "alternative black tie", then the dress code is "black tie" and the recommended attire is a very formal one.

The main part of a festive attire is the vest, but the pants are the ones that complement it, and a pair of black wool pants, tailored to your measure to follow the natural lines of the body, will certainly benefit you.

When it comes to the jacket, if you haven’t had the opportunity by now, we challenge you to try the double-breasted jacket or the velvet jacket.

If you have already tried the two proposed options, then we suggest you go beyond and bet on the reunion of both features in the same piece: a velvet double-breasted jacket.

Although the material is inherently opulent, in the structure of a double-breasted it gains that je ne sais quoi of declarative luxury. Velvet is the epitome of luxury, a classic evening material for the cold season, and the construction with two rows of buttons, with a cut slim, flatters the silhouette and will dress you up in a pure British elegance.

For a less formal event, the three-piece suit is an excellent choice. Do not forget to choose the right accessories that will perfectly complement the rest of the new year's eve outfit.

If you choose to spend the New Year with friends at the mountains, we are not talking about a festive atmosphere, but a rather relaxed one. You can leave the bow tie aside, and the top button of the shirt can remain unbuttoned provided you do not forget to use collar sticks, preferably made of metal, which will perfectly maintain the collar. A colored jacket (purple, mauve, olive) or an interesting pattern (Prince of Whales, Houndstooth) will certainly bring you to prominence.

Opt only for precious materials containing silk or cashmere in the composition of the fabric and choose a pair of leather boots with Goodyear Welt construction.

100% merino wool sweater with high collar is the best alternative to a shirt collar, if you make the right choice. Opt for darker colors (black is ok, but you can opt for dark shades of blue and red as they are less severe) and match it with a jacket.
